Decoupaged Notepad

Hello everyone!

This particular project I made especially for Papericious current month's challenge - something old + something new. I have always been in love with upcycled products , infact my crafting started from there. So i really wanted to participate in this.

I had this old notepad lying in my house, which was a gift to my dad. I wanted to use the butterfly decoupage paper since a long time, so atlast got the chance and time to.

First I dismantled the notepad outer covers. The upper cover has outer part in artificial leather material and inner part in velvet material. The lower cover has artificial leather material on the inside and velvet on the outer (the bottom).

Painted with Papericious white heavy gesso on both the leather parts. Used turquoise blue acrylic color on the entire area. Diluted brown acrylic color and did color wash here and there on the sides alone, as the centre part will be covered with the paper.

Then used Mudra stamps (honey comb and script) with archival ink pad and stamped around.
Cut the decoupage paper as much was needed, corner was cut round and the edges were scrapped, then distressed with distress oxide. Used mod podge to decoupage it on the outer cover (outside and inside), that is 3 sides and left the bottom part as it is.
Have kept it simple and not added any embelishments as i will be using it on a daily basis.

Aaanndd, there it is!

Enjoyed making this as it was my first trial on a leather and velvet material.
Will be using this on my table as it gives me a lovely vibe when I look at it.

Explosion Box #1

Hi Everyone!

This is the first time I made an explosion box. It's a gift for a birthday girl who loves dogs, traveling, bike rides and is fun loving. Loved making it.

Have used Indie Chic paper pack from Papericious. These papers are so gorgeous, love the dreamcatcher paper the most.

*The outer box is blue cardstock that came with the Indie chic pack. Measured 30x30cm, cut at 20cm on each side (for length of 10cm) ,then scored on every 10cm on each side. folded and stuck with double-sided tape, a pocket will be made on each side. on top of each pocket, I have made a semi-circle cut in the middle.
*Outer part and inner part of the box were stuck with papers from the pack (8.5x9.5 cm)

*the inner box is pink cardstock , again from the same pack. Measured 27x27 cm , cut at 18cm on each side (for the length of 9cm), and scored on every 9 cm on each side. will be kept as a flap on each side.

*inside part of this box was stuck with paper from the pack (8.5x8.5cm) and the 4 flaps were stuck with another design (8.5x8.5 cm)
*outer part was stuck with papers from MKY Papers - Birthday Bumps pack. (8.5x8.5 cm)

* Tags were made with pink cardstock as base (9x8 cm each) and the design paper stuck on it (8.5x7.5cm)
* CrafTreat tags were used on the outer part of 2nd box and inner part of 1st box.

* Few images and sentiments were used from Mudra (Furr ever) and Peekaboo (summer coolers) and some unbranded stamps with Archival jet black ink. then fussy cut it and stuck with foam tape.
* Made 2 rolls of plain white cardstock and tied with jute rope.

* Box cover was made from a sheet that measured 14.2x14.2. the upper part was decorated with doile and some designs (fussy cut) from the papericious pack.

And here it is! I wish had the video for it.

You can buy MKY papers and Mudra stamps used here from our store

Message box

Hi Everyone!

Made this cute, small and compact Message box.

Process:

*Used 3 different colored cardstocks. 1 for the cover, 1 for the box, 1 for the background on cover and box.
Cover size - 5.1x4x1.5 cm
Box size - 5x4x1.5 cm
Will make another post seperately on the making of these boxes.

*Used Mudra's clear stamp - "Let's party" set to create this. Stamped them on white cardstock using Archival jet black ink, fussy cut them and foam tape to stick. Colored the cake and in between the words with color pens.
*The message inside the box is handwritten. And there it is!

I couldn't take pics of each step. So posting only the final outcome.

Cuddle-up Day 2018

Hi, Everyone!

Wish you all a very Happy and prosperous New Year!

This is my first ever post on my first ever blog. I love crafting and still in the learning process and discovering new things in crafting field.
Today is Cuddle-up Day (Thanks to Alicia Souza, amazing doodler, who has mentioned that in her super cool calen-doodler. Will soon talk about that in my upcoming posts). Never knew such a day existed. Haha. Have made a layout or page on my art journal related to this.

Bought a new phone holder/stand which we can attach to a table. So that helped me film the entire process from start to finish.
Unfortunately, I don't have pics of the making. I started with distress oxides to give a background. Used Peekaboo alphabet set clear stamps and Impresso acrylic block, to stamp the letters. Balloon stamp(not sure of the brand) and Alphabets wooden mount stamps are used.
With the help of Kaiser Craft stencils and Tim Holtz stencil tried to give some designs to the page. At the end have used  CrafTreat stencil and texture paste to add a layer.
Hope you guys like it. I am still learning, so any kind of inputs for improvement are welcome.
Thanks in advance.
